Hello Everyone,
As usual, a few days ago I was sitting around and thinking about tango and I realized: Americans (in the US) have a serious problem with their diets. But I’m not talking about caloric intake* , I’m talking about tandas.
It seems to me that the prevailing attitude is to dance more more more; to consume tanda after tanda regardless of nutritional value. People are enjoying the “full” feeling of constant dancing rather then the “delicious amazing savor the moment on cloud nine from an awesome tanda with a great dancer” feeling. Would you prefer a tub of discount ice cream or a scoop of the finest gelato?
Truth be told, I’ve seen this gluttonous behavior in the milongas of Buenos Aires from some of the exceptional young milongueros/as. But they’re eating gelato. Truth be told (again), I too enjoy stuffing my face, with food and tandas…But never at McDonald’s.

*Although that IS a SERIOUS problem with 1/3 of people in the US at risk of getting type 2 diabetes.
Wonderful observation, prevalent problem with Americans…….savor the moments of a journey….quality over quantity. I see that with American hikers too. The hikers are so obsessed with getting to the peak they don’t observe and delight what’s along the way.
